Dr. Noorbhai is a Specialist and Laparoscopic Surgeon in Durban, KwaZulu Natal. He completed his undergraduate at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2003. This included a training elective in Glasgow, Scotland at Glasgow University. His passion for surgery leads him to complete his internship and community service. Thereafter, Dr. Aslam Noorbhai continued as a Surgical Medical Officer in (predominantly rural) White River, Mpumalanga where he received direct practical training from international and local specialists.

He completed his initial specialist training in Mpumalanga and thereafter completed his remaining specialist exams via the College of Medicine in South Africa. His fellowship in Surgery was awarded in May 2012. He completed his MBA course modules with MANCOSA and his Master of Medicine in Surgery in 2016. He is also certified in Travel and Vaccine Medicine for all his Hajj, Umrah and travelling patients.

After obtaining his Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery at this centre, he continues to regularly attend the World renowned IRCAD Specialist Laparoscopic training centre in Strasbourg, France for the latest developments in Minimal Access and Laparoscopic Surgery. He is also certified in Laparoscopic Intensive Surgery, Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery, Laparoscopic Advanced Hernia Surgery and Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery.

Dr Noorbhai aims to provide his patients with the highest quality healthcare that everyone deserves. He performs both laparoscopic and open surgery using only the most advanced evidence based surgical techniques and technology. With his passion for people and medicine, he strives to provide each of his patients with a patient-centred approach in which he gives them with the best possible outcome with minimally invasive surgery.
